2 Corinthians chapter 7 comes to mind as Paul discusses his first letter to the Corinthians in which he exposed their many, many faults. Praise God that He shows us our faults so that Godly sorrow may be produced and genuine repentance abound! If the Holy Spirit did not expose in us the faults that keep us from growing in fellowship with God we might just slip into what Peter speaks of in his first epistle chapter 2 verse 20."For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first". Also consider Hebrews chapter twelve which refer to the discipline of God which comes about as a result of disobedience, which we are instructed not to rebuke. For if you are not disciplined by God, you do not belong to Him and are an illegitimate child. As well as Revelations chapter 2:5 which is Christ Himself rebuking the church and telling them to repent "or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place ". Just to clear up any confusion over who Jesus might of been speaking to, the greek translation for the word church literally means "called out ones". We are the ones who make the mistake of calling a building a church, Jesus was speaking specifically to those people who believed in Him, belonged to Him and who were in danger of turning from following Him in their totality. So the conviction of the Holy Spirit in the heart of a believer brings a person closer in relationship with Christ if they allow it to produce repentance. And hardens ones heart if they choose to ignore it. Check out the group of people called Nicolaitains that Jesus talks about in revelations. Remember that He said He hated their practices.

Keep in mind that when the Bible refers to Spirit with a capital S it is speaking of the Holy Spirit not your own. Your redeemed spirit is incapable of leading you in the right direction, only Christ can lead you on the right path. Check John 15. Remember when Christ said "If you want to be my disciple you must deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me" he never said follow your own spirit anywhere. After all if you're following yourself in any way, have you really made Christ your Lord? So ask yourself throughout the day every day, who is controlling my soul, Jesus Christ the infallible Son of God, or myself, a man who has fallen short of the glory of God?

I have to say that this a very common sense thing that i think all of us lose sight of from time to time. Now more than ever i catch myself when i am thinking about something or about to say something or have said or done something I know is sinful in nature I think twice about it before it leaves my mouth, but still sometimes they seem to slip out. It is like there are two voices in my head competing for my soul and my spirit. I am ever vigilant to be aware of the things that are done in private or behind closed doors because it is the things you do when no one is watching that i feel really defines you, in a sense actions do speak louder than words. So everyday I start a new and try to let my actions speak for themselves, but as i said the result is not always perfect and if we keep it in perspective and do not use our precious gift that jesus has gave us as a free licensce to sin, we can emerge victorios in the lord.So to answer, God is in control and always will be ,no matter how we may stumble along the way,he is always right there to pick you back up again. It is true that every word and action we take defines who we are in christ, and I thank the lord every day for making me whole again. It is SO EASY to get caught up in the ways of the world and the more you serve god ,the more the spiritual attacks come your way.Once in a while i need to be reminded of these things , as we all do. I wish everyone at this wonderful ministry of open arms a very blessed evening and worship sevice tommorrow. god bless all of you , Brian Troch

Just like when I saw my son and daughter for the very first time during the sonogram and on the computer screen, I stood in awe, amazed at God's miracles, that these little hearts were beating so fast. Yes, life exists in the womb. God's love runs deep.
