One of the common denominators of successful people is that they are willing to take risks. But let me see if I can take this just a little further for those of us who know Christ. The greatest common denominators of the success of those who follow Christ is wrapped up in three things.
#1 – Knowing How to hear Gods voice
#2 – Knowing there is no risk involved when God says so
#3 – Using the faith you already possess to move on what God says
The Word says in John 10:27 – “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they will follow me.” The key is, connecting your hearing to His voice. His voice does not speak to your physical ears, He speaks to your Spirit, so get your Spirit tuned into His frequency and listen, then move by faith.

The only need that God will ever have is to be believed. Your obedience is proof that you truly believe God. Your obedience is proof that you truly believe His promises for your life. Hebrews 11:6 says without faith it is impossible to please God, for he that comes to God must believe that His is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Your obedience to Him will always be an indicator of your trust of Him, your trust will be the key to diligently seeking Him and then your rewards will enter your life by default. Always remember that God cannot advance you past your last act of disobedience. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean to your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.

You have heard me say and teach over the years “what you make happen for others God will make happen for you”. It’s a basic principle of sowing and reaping: “You will reap what you sow”. I have learned over the years that when I concentrate on the success of others, God would concentrate on my own success. But we also have to look at the other hand as well. When I concentrate on someone else’s failure then that failure will eventually come to me. It should make us a little more conscious of how we see, talk about and respond to others because those are all ways to encourage success or failure in others. I choose to encourage success! – Amen

Have you ever considered how much God desires that we come into greater revelation of He and His Kingdom. The key to greater revelation is understanding that God is not showing us something new, rather understanding that we have to be flexible enough to change our mental/emotional position about something and see it from a different point of view. All it takes to see something differently is to look at it from a different position. The problem most of us have in the body of Christ is that we only see from one position. That is where tradition and customs become damaging. I made a statement this past Sunday morning that most preachers tell people where they stopped, not where they are going. God doesn’t show us things that He’s previously kept hidden; He wants to show us something that was there all along, but we were just in the wrong position to see it. The Kingdom is progressive and our God is forever moving therefore we must be ever hearing and not stuck in only what we have heard. “Faith (the progression of the Kingdom) comes by hearing…” – Amen!

Here’s my thought for this week:

Ask yourself, “Who is controlling my soul?” Whoever controls your soul (mind, emotions and will) will control your life, and whoever controls your life will control your destiny. Since I know I am a three part being, Spirit, Soul and Body, my soul is either being controlled by my Spirit or my Body (flesh). If my soul is being controlled by my Body, which includes the desires of my flesh through my five senses, then I am being controlled by death and decay. See, my body came from the earth which is slowly moving toward death and decay everyday. Which means a soul dictated by the body is constantly declining and decaying. But! If my Soul is led by my Redeemed Spirit within me then I am always progressing. Your body is controlled by the law of sin and death and is in constant decay, but your Spirt is “life and peace” which is constant progression. So ask yourself throughout the day every day “Who is controlling my soul?”. In every decision, every response and every word ask yourself “Who is controlling my soul?”. Amen!

What a Wonderful day! Go ahead and rejoice in it. Let me give you a thought that has been stirring in my heart this morning:

I believe most Christians have this warped concept that God helps us by showing us our faults. Jeremiah 31:34 God says, “I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” If God remembers our sin no more then why and how would He remind us of them?

The work of the Holy Spirit is to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment (John 16:9-11 – read all).
He did not come to remind us of our faults. He convicts the “world” of sin but those who are saved He reminds of our righteousness (right position) and He has brought judgment upon the Prince of this world (satan) who now stands condemned.

Finding fault is not a work of the Holy Spirit. James 1:5 says “if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault…”. Finding fault is neither inspired by God nor led by Him. Finding fault is a product of fear, low self worth and anger. It is the source of more inner conflict than almost any other factor. Even when change is truly needed, transformation doesn’t happen by focusing on what is wrong. I did a short teaching some time ago and made the statement that “everything we know about human behavior tells us that people are transformed into whatever holds their attention”. People who are focused on their faults will never escape their faults. You need to know that the sin problem has been settled by the finished work of Jesus. You should know that, through faith in that finished work, you are empowered by God’s righteousness to be who God says you are. Follow Christ, Focus on Him and His love for you and watch your life begin to transform right before your eyes. – Amen!

Don’t forget Power Hour Tonight (Wednesday) at 7:00pm
(Continuing our Summer Series “Taking Control of My Life”)
